Mostly Water is my response to the exhibition title Life with Water—a drawing created using ultramarine calligraphy ink in varying water solutions. Guided by the material, the process involves directing, observing and allowing the ink to ebb, flow and settle into shifting blue forms. This quiet alchemy—a rhythm of waiting and merging—is central. The piece evokes deep-sea flora, shaped unconsciously rather than predetermined. Part of a visually related series, each work remains distinct. The title reflects both the ink-to-water ratio in the making and our own watery planet and nature. Mostly Water seems to ask: how can fluidity hold such deep rooted presence?
