The sea connects us, even as it separates us. An invisible thread runs through the water, weaving together journeys, memories and sea routes across time and space. It is this thread, and the fleeting traces left in its wake, that inspired Evi’s work. The patterns the water leaves on the sand, the textures revealed as the tide retreats resemble a woven fabric. Like a modern-day Penelope, the sea endlessly works and unravels this tapestry, over and over again.
