Lighthouses continue to enchant and fill me with a longing for the seaside, the sound of the water lapping onto the shore and the feeling of solitude while not feeling lonely but full of anticipation of what may be across the sea.
This print is the first in a set of two perspectives on the same lighthouse as seen somewhere on the Great Ocean Road in Australia.
In this photoetching, I used a photopolymer film to expose a photographic image onto a Zinc plate. I work from Edinburgh Printmakers’ studio where safer acid resists are used, making etching a much healthier process than it traditionally was.
