This copperplate etching is of the Isle of Bute from Toward. Toward has a lighthouse, which is located to the rear of where I was sitting when I carried out the original sketch. Man-made activities in the area include the Cowal Games, which take place in August.
In addition, the nuclear submarines located at the Holy Loch regularly carry out manoeuvers below the Firth of Clyde's surface, which affects the water's surface. My initial interest was piqued because the rocky coastline is part of the Highland faultline, which is a unique geological feature in this part of the world.
