This work is inspired by the now derelict pier at Strone in Argyll and Bute. Robertson is interested in architectural structures which bridge the foreshore, focusing on the recesses of these constructions. In particular their planes and surfaces offer a rich and emotive territory for exploration. This structure sitting in the expanse of the ocean represents a frontier where past and present collide, blur and become indistinct.
