Anne Russell
This is a monoprint based on rocks found on the shore at the East Neuk of Fife.
Rocks found along the shore, the colours and texture, as the result of constant pounding of the sea and erosion by glaciers, are a source of inspiration.
Working with brushes and rollers directly on the bed of the etching press and applying inks to a clear Perspex sheet, Anne is able to create one-off or variable edition prints by building up layers of semi-transparent colours, creating a subliminal effect.
