I believe everything leaves a trace. Nothing just disappears. It may evolve, adapt, represent, and reinvent itself but a sense of the origin is still at the core. It may no longer exist in a physical form, only as a memory. Although thoughts may diminish over time, the initial moment of recognition remains as a catalyst which can transform subsequent actions and behaviours. Using reclaimed and recycled materials as the basis of practice, allows me to create work based on this ethos. Using my original photographs of ice cubes, the subject matter themselves only existing in solid form for a short time, I proceeded to manipulate and distort these images using a combination of drawing, collage and mark making.
