Paul’s Greenhouse was created as part of a series of experimental pieces that
explored a new process of line making through an adaption of the traditional
carpenter’s chalk line technique. A taught string was inked with acrylic paint
before being pinged onto the surface of the paper. Each line element is a print of
that one piece of string with the characteristic paint splatters created as a result
of the impact it made with the paper. This process of inking and pinging was then
repeated hundreds of times to slowly build up the image.
