This piece aims to express the feeling of perpetual negativity the artist and most others have had to carry over the last 15 months or so . Not only the weight of isolation, the fear of infection and loved ones growing sick but also of the persistent question of what is truth in the 'post truth' age. What information, and who, can we trust when all seems unbelievable, unfamiliar and sinister? All systems we use for reassurance and structure now seem unstable. Can we trust our own instincts even when we are told, nay instructed by law, not to fulfil our basic human needs of contact when we need it most. The casting was carried out in an immediate fashion to capture the rawness of this emotional state and the abruptness with which it became our reality. The form includes a fragile realm between two masses, the shining pins reminiscent of a menacing girn but also a reminder that this burden we carry is shared.
