This print is from Scalene, a body of work comprising a series of 12 geometric compositions investigating the arrangement of monochromatic space. In creating these images, I aim to challenge the viewer’s expectations of what is matter, and what is merely perceived.

The compositions are photographed under natural sunlight and processed into photogravure, a medium that is best able to render dark and light and the tones in between. The resulting soft, subtle etchings suggest presence and absence, space and non-space.
