During lockdown, The Drawing Box International artists’ group invited large-scale drawings for an exhibition in India (currently postponed). I used recurrent motifs of cages, mermaids, figures and landscape to explore how a picture can be an event, the process of drawing, erasing, manipulating and creating can become a manifestation. The picture examines the human condition, our embodied existence and how it feels to be human.
