To capture...I am constantly inspired by the tidelines that are left along our beaches at low tide, with their semi permanent nature, yet striking visual impact on the sands.
To capture their fascinating colours, textures and shapes I have used mixed media, as the inks, pastels and collage lend themselves well to the subject.
Tidelines are often regarded as unsightly piles of seaweed, and are often removed from beaches in the peak season. However, they are an amazing and essential microhabitat for organisms, suchas crustaceans, sand hoppers and seabirds, and I aim to reflect their intricate structure in my work.
