I created a series of prints taken directly from the body, focusing on the abstract qualities within these impressions.
Recently, I’ve revisited this body of work with the perspective and insight that comes with age. Working within the constraint of a 10" x 10” substrate, I’ve returned to one of the original images and repeated it across a new series. This time, I’ve experimented with different combinations of materials in my studio—collage, old letters, ink, paint, pastels, and gesso—to uncover new meanings and visual possibilities. 'Water' is one painting from a set of four new works, each titled after an element: Air, Water, Fire, and Earth.
