MOON-DRIFT is a collaborative work between two artists which combines footage from a short exploratory project with found moving image and sound to create an embodied dreamscape. Inspired by rhythms of REM sleep the work uses body movement to imagine the moon's gravitational pull as it acts on the ebb and flow of deep sleep brainwaves;. in dreams we follow the wake of the moon. Artists statements: 1. 'My practice includes artists moving image and mixed media installations. In my moving image work I use image and sound montage to create connections between inner and outer landscapes. ;As a dancer/choreographer I have always loved to collaborate with science as well as other art forms. I employ visual art, moving image and dance in my exploration of a variety of themes. I am particularly interested in nature, water and landscape.
